Under Covenant, Israel never had a church called the church the body of Christ. They had the church in the wilderness, and the church which was at Jerusalem, but there is simply no record of them ever having the church, Which is his body. This term was distinct, and only mentioned in the epistles of Paul. Today's mainstreamers continue to teach that the bible only speaks of ONE church. What say you? Let us investigate.
Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
Acts 8:1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
Under Grace, the Lord called out and saved Saul of Tarsus, (Acts 9) making him Paul, "the apostle of the Gentiles" (Romans 11:13). Paul was given a church that was separate and distinct from all others in the bible.
Ephesians 1:22-23 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
For we who are members of the body of Christ church, it is Paul who is our pattern, (1 Timothy 1:16). He, "as a wise masterbuilder" is who the Lord instructed to lay our foundation (1 Corinthians 3:10).
While it is true that there is only one church today, it is NOT true that there is only one church found in the bible.
Knowing how to locate your-church, will lead you to your-apostle who penned your-doctrine.
