Under Covenant, there was an UNFORGIVABLE sin:
Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
Under Grace, the evidence shows that there are no sins left to forgive. Not even blasphemy.
Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
What does "all" mean? Would it not include blasphemy?
When Paul came on the scene, if blasphemy was still UNFORGIVABLE, how did he get forgiven?
“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
who was before a blasphemer,”... (1 Timothy 1:12-13).
So Paul, a “blasphemer”, was not only "counted...faithful," but was put “into the ministry”. Now that is the power of Gods grace!
Romans 5:20 ...But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Note: What some have missed is that the entire WORLD'S sins including blasphemy was paid for on the cross (1
Corinthians 15:1-4, Colossians 2:13). And is what enabled God to stop charging sins to anyone's account (2 Corinthians 5:19).
The twelve apostles (before the cross and before Paul) did not know or teach this. It was concealed dispensational truth that Christ only LATER revealed to Paul.
So technically speaking, ALL sins now fall into the category of UNFORGIVABLE. Why? Because if they were forgiven almost two thousand years ago at Calvary, it is impossible to get them forgiven AGAIN.
So today we can rightfully say ALL sins are unforgivable.
The covenant God made with Israel, provided various ways of getting sins forgiven, including animal sacrifice, forgiving others, repentance, baptism and sin confessing.
Leviticus 4:35 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him.
Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,...
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Again, today, getting your sins forgiven is an IMPOSSIBILITY. There is nothing you can DO in your flesh, or BELIEVE in your mind that will activate or appropriate your forgiveness. How can God forgive sins that he is not imputing? (2 Corinthians 5:19).
Romans 6:14 says we are not under the law.
Romans 4:15 says where there is no law, there is no sin.
No sin equals no forgiveness. Hence the reason God cannot forgive anyone's sin today!
"The truth is found when we are free to pursue it."
