Teachers: Do we Need Them or Not?

Under Covenant, the books of Hebrews through Revelation all speak exclusively to HEBREWS concerning their future New Covenant. A time when they will NOT need a teacher.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Hebrews 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

Under Grace, the books of Paul speak to the church the body of Christ. A church with no Hebrew or Gentile distinction in this present time. A time when we DO need teachers.

Ephesians 4:11-12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

1 Corinthians 4:17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

1 Timothy 4:10-11 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. These things command and teach.

God's word will not make sense unless we do as we are commanded and rightly DIVIDE the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

Rightly dividing the word of truth is not to divide truth from lies, but rather to divide TRUTH from TRUTH. To divide the truth that was given to covenant Israel from the truth that was given to us who are members of God's mystery church.

The reason the church-the-body-of-Christ is only mentioned in Paul's letters is because there was no such thing prior to Paul. Prior to Paul there was a Jewish church that made a distinction between Jew and Gentile. It was only after Christ revealing the Romans 16:25 "revelation of the mystery" to the apostle Paul that we learn that there is no longer any such distinction being made (Galatians 3:28).
