Staying within the parameter of context is
key when looking for answers to our bible questions. Those who are intellectually honest will not go outside the
criterion to try and further their agenda. We should never abandon context in an attempt to make passages fit
within our denominational belief system.
Example: above is Ezekiel 44:30. Look at
it again and ask yourself, who is the "thine"? Who is the "thine" that receive the material
If you're honest your answer
should be, the circumcised "house of Israel" identified in verse 22 of the same chapter.
Let's try again. This time with the
Malachi chapter 3. Go read it, and when you're done, ask yourself, who is the "LORD of hosts" promising material
blessings to if they will obey Him?
Again, if you are honest, your
answer will be those of "Judah and Jerusalem" identified in verse 4 of the same chapter.
Bible study is not all that hard, the
problem is, we HARDLY do it. Most have decided to let their preacher do it for them.
